Any Thoughts on the 3/50 Project?

I believe rural communities have been practicing this for longer than most - but even we know there are times when we have to shop at the "shopping place who shall not be named!" because there are no local choices. However, when at all possible - if we begin to change how we think... if just 1/2 of all American households spent just $50.00 at there local stores / per month... Change would be possible?
