Home Growing - Mushrooms

Ever since we fired our corporate coffee house habit, we have been increasing our health, saving money, and making more and more friends. We found that for all the money spent on coffee and working from laptops in coffee houses, we could be staying at home growing mushrooms too expensive for us to buy at the grocery store.

So its time to contact us regarding your first mushroom kit. We have blue oyster, pearl oyster, and white/king… Continue

The origins of Feng Shui

If you are looking into the origins of Feng Shui, you certainly cannot miss that Feng Shui is based on the Yi Jing (also known as the I Ching). The Yi Jing is a profound Chinese oracle. It is one of the five classics of Chinese writing. The five classics are the Book of Changes (Yi Jing), The Book of History or Documents (Shu Jing), the Book of Songs (Shi Jing), the Book of Ritual, (Li Ji), and the Spring and Autumn Annals (Chunqiu). These five books are considered to be the early writings that… Continue

Thanks to Arthur Azdair, the Bonsai YOga Studio has dialed in on The Scent of Health & Success.

Why do some people like certain scents but not others? For example, there are those who like light scents and others who prefer heavy. Their preference is determined by their innate energy. Most people are unaware that scents can stimulate pe… Continue

Yes it is wonderful to live in America in these times of relative Peace. Not for the presence of "convenience" but for the absence of War.
We have had the Great Honor to Play Music in the humblest and most inviting little church I have ever seen! Mike the preacher rescued us when our car died in Lubbock Texas. He drove more than 9 hours to pick us up and we had to keep him awake by singing songs. Turns out, he is a wonderful musician who sings to his congregation every week interspersing inspired prayer and very heartfelt understandabe and Uplifting readings from the Bible. He is what I would call a very Spiritual person who is rooted in his church as a platform for real compassionate outreach to the Local Community.. Wow! I was so impressed with the humble little church ("The House of Prayer") at the end of a long country road near Austin Texas. The double padded green carpet and and colorful tapestries on the walls including Tie-Died Cross curtains! and this beautiful man and his wife singing and inspiring their friends makes you feel right at home, feels like a family reunion. Two weeks in a row we got to play songs for them which they loved and we did too. As I write this in the Airport, the song "Down to the River to Pray" comes on the cafe radio, one of the songs we sang.
The Youpon Holly (Ilex vomitoria) as a Yerba Mate substitue remains questionable. Maybe I haven't figured out the correct method of roasting the leaves, or maybe they should just be air dried (this I am trying now). But the tea I've made so far just hasn't been too similar to its tropical relative, although maybe a good tea in its own right. I am interested in the cleansing and purifying effects of the strongly brewed "black drink" made from these leaves.
Another exciting discovery, however, in the Austin Bioregion leaves my Chai with a Most High spice. An apprently wild or "naturalized" variety of hot pepper grows in the herbacious level of the forest edge below the woody everygreen Youpon Holly(Holy Holly, it would make a wonder EveryGreening for the Yuletide). Anyway, these peppers have the taste and color similar to cayanne peppers and a little sweet pepper aroma of their own, and best of all they are tiny little circular eggs, reflecting in non-need for size, the emensity of their emanating flavor. The reason I like this is that usually I use much less than a whole cayanne in Chai or as seasoning an I'm left with all these partial peppers. Also, these little ones, after drying convieniently explode between the thumb and finger into the pot. I have collected many and will seed them into my Garden next spring and hopefully naturalize them, and they will thereafter self-seed themselves.
I have picked up the silver flute since leaving both my bamboo flute along the trail, and its really fun!
So now it is off to home in the method of Dorthy "Over the Rainbow" and I Hold you All in my Greatest Wishes.
Let this InTERnet interaction be training for our InTRAnet communication to come~!

Hello friends,

I apologize for not being able to stay in contact as well as I would have liked. James and I have been on the move for sometime now. We stayed in the Humboldt area for a month after leaving Heartwood and then set out on a week roadtrip to Wisconsin. We just got in yesterday and we are exhausted, but excited about life! I will be staying in Wisco and James is heading to Maine to be with his family for the holidays.

We keep taking the steps and pulling back the curtains to see what comes next and it never ceases to amaze us. We've been listening to Eckart Tolle and reading the Ringing Cedar Series about Anastasia in Russia. Beautiful and Truthful.

"Everything is going to according to plan... B", James said, "the ever present and necessary Plan B."

"Lets build a plastic pirate ship!" Shaina asked me to relay this message to you as well.

I joined the blog, but the interenet connection here is very very slooowwww, so please forgive me if I am often absent.

I hope you two are doing well. Blessings of golden and violet light are being sent your way.

Love, Jamie

Between the conscious and the unconscious, the mind has put up a swing:

Between the conscious and the unconscious, the mind has put up a swing:
all earth creatures, even the supernovas, sway between these two trees,
and it never winds down.

Angels, animals, humans, insects by the million, also the wheeling sun and moon;
ages go by, and it goes on.

Everything is swinging: heaven, earth, water, fire,
and the secret one slowly growing a body.
Kabir saw that for fifteen seconds, and it made him a servant for life.

Thanks for swinging with us here at Namaspirit!!!

Divine "BE"-ings

Divine “BE”-ings

i sit here before the windows of my Soul
looking at my “Self” looking at me
and i am mesmerized
by all the possibilities of what “i” Be

if i did not glimpse the infinite

i know i often speak of it
